PROGRAMS

Kohelet offers a full calendar of Jewish programs for adults and children, including Shabbat, holiday and High Holiday observances, the Kohelet Teen Learning Center, Hebrew School for Kids, Book Club, Kabbalat Shabbat Services, teachers from the community at large, and selected morning services. David Sanders' popular Kabbalah Experience also meets regularly at Kohelet.

Kohelet hosts some outstanding entertainment. Some of the events we've held include the Andy Statman Trio, Hal Aqua, Beyond the Pale, and Los Lantzmun.

Over 60 people attended our Tu b'Shevat Seder, which was a riot of fun. At least 30 kids under the age of 12 swarmed the house while grown-ups socialized, and then David Sanders led a delightful, educational, and thoughtful seder leading us up through the four Kabalistic worlds and associating them with the various species of fruit. Member-Decorators had the house at its festive finest, transporting participants to a tropic island paradise.

Our Hannukah party was another full house, with bunches of wide-eyed kids and countless candles. At our Simchat Torah, 50 or so gloved people held a section of an unrolled Torah scroll, creating a room-sized circle around the playing children in the middle. One of our learned members led us on a guided tour through the visibly remarkable sections of the Torah, such as the Song of the Sea, where the words are separated to look like a ladder.
